Part of IWC’s mandate is to work towards systemic change in the workers’ compensation system. In addition to assisting individual workers with their claims, caseworkers regularly advocate for legislative and policy changes that will impact the system as a whole and benefit many workers.
Whether it is presenting before a provincial committee, meeting with WSIB managers or writing submissions to the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development or the WSIB, IWC regularly advocates for change that is rooted in the needs and perspectives of the injured workers we represent and work alongside.
